Resume Tips

• Your resume should be either one or two pages, no more.
• Check and double check to make sure there aren’t any misspelled words or typos.
• Always add your email address and a phone number where you can be reached.
• Use key words to attract what employers are looking for.
• Always think of your résumé as a marketing tool with benefits for employers.
• Quantify your results by discussing numbers, percentages, etc.
• Don’t begin each sentence (in job description) with “Responsibilities included..”
• Put your education in the right area, recent graduates should be upfront.
• Show a clear match between your experience and skills.

Interview Tips

• Be prepared for the interview.
• Research the company online beforehand.
• Have your "30 second infomercial" ready at all times.
• Always be on time, there are no excuses for arriving late.
• Wear the appropriate clothing, call if uncertain.
• Prepare for the interview mentally.
• Be acutely aware of your body language.
• Never complain about anyone or anything.
• Emphasize your achievements.
• Answer all questions directly, but do not ramble on and on.
• Be prepared to complete the application form.
• Do not inquire about the salary on the first interview.
• Think of a few good questions to ask of the interviewer.
